Terms and Conditions of TERNAVSKI Snow Academy
Welcome to the website of Vladimír Ternavský – TERNAVSKI Snow Academy (hereinafter referred to as TERNAVSKI). By continuing to browse and view our website at www.ternavski.sk, you agree to our terms and conditions (T&C) and all website terms and privacy regulations. If you do not agree with any of our contractual terms or legal provisions in these T&C, please do not use our website and do not contact us at ternavski@ternavski.sk. We reserve the right to change our T&C and personal data protection policies at any time. Changes and explanations become effective immediately upon publication on the website.
Insurance
TERNAVSKI is not responsible for client insurance. Lessons do not include insurance. TERNAVSKI disclaims any liability for accidents, injuries, and losses during instruction or their consequences. We strongly recommend that our clients purchase travel insurance or other suitable insurance for skiing, such as mountain, accident, health, rescue, or recreational insurance. Since June 1, 2020, every visitor staying in the city of Vysoké Tatry and registered in the accommodation records from whom accommodation tax has been collected is collectively insured for the intervention of the Mountain Rescue Service (HZS). More information is available at the link Insurance in the mountains. Emergency line HZS: 18 300
Prices and Lesson Times
Prices for school services (skiing or snowboarding lessons) are valid according to the current price list on the school’s website, specifically on the Price List.
Lesson times are listed in the price list, including breaks of 5, 10, or 20 minutes, depending on the type and duration of the lesson.
Participants in Lessons
Lesson participants are registered individuals for the lesson and can be children, teenagers, or adults, specifying only the age group: Children up to 6 years or Children up to 10 years or other Persons from 10 years and older. The person paying for the lesson is the Customer and must indicate whether they themselves “are” or “are not” a participant in the lesson. If “yes,” it will be indicated in the form, and in that case, all Rules for Participants (see below) apply to them. If “no,” they can register another person(s) as participants in the lesson.
Rules for Lesson Participants
In accordance with the valid methodology for teaching skiing and snowboarding recommended by accredited educational organizations (such as ZSL, SAPUL, and others), we adhere to rules for teaching, especially for children and other individuals entering the teaching process:
Reservation and Payments
Customers can reserve lessons through our online Reservation System (RS) at the link Reservations (recommended) or via the online registration form at the link Lesson Form, or by phone at +421 905 903 058. The last two options, including various intermediary agencies or websites, do not guarantee that your desired date will be available, so we recommend using the first option, our RS.
All lessons must be paid in advance, as a deposit, at the rate of 50% of the total lesson(s) cost at the time of reservation. The remaining part of the price will be paid on the spot in cash. We accept transfers through the STRIPE payment gateway. We support the possibility of payment with almost all types of credit and debit cards (including Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and others). In addition, Stripe also supports transfers from the Stripe account back to the customer’s account in cases of justified payment refunds. Bank transfers go to our account in euros. Transfers are made on a daily basis, but the transfer time to your account may be several days longer (5 to 10 days). The reservation will not be confirmed until the down payment is received.
Cancellation
Cancellation of a reservation will be charged as follows:
Accuracy and notices
The customer orders a ski or snowboard lesson, arranging the specific Start of his/her lesson. Lessons start at 8:30am and run every half hour until 3:00pm, with five possible lesson lengths: 1H, 1.5H, 2H, 2.5H and 3H. The school will assign the customer to an instructor for that term who is marked as “booked out” in the RS system, i.e. unavailable to others. Punctuality is at the client’s own risk, in case of late arrival the lesson fee is not refundable.
Lesson start time: instructors wait 50 minutes at the meeting point after the meeting time A customer who has booked a lesson via RS will receive an extra notification of the times and details of their lesson(s) to the email provided by them. The email the customer provides for their menu is unique and multiple emails cannot be used for the same menu and customer’s last name. Also, a phone number is required as we will contact you prior to the lesson to fine tune all the details together.
Children’s Lessons
Our lessons are private, but you can create smaller groups up to a total of 4 people in a group, while adhering to the Rules for creating children’s groups (see above). At the beginning of children’s lessons, we check the skiing level of the children. If necessary, we can move children between groups to ensure the smooth flow of lessons. Accordingly, we may need to change the size of your group. This may mean that the group will be divided into two or more smaller ones in accordance with the Rules.
All our lessons require a minimum of 1 person for smooth operation. We reserve the right to cancel or adjust the number of children in the group or adjust the times if the Rules for the recommended number of children are not followed. If you are the only person booked for the lesson, we will contact you no later than a week before the lesson to discuss your options: 1. You can cancel the lessons and get a full refund. 2. You can transfer the reserved hours to another person. 3. You can reschedule your dates within 7 days from the lesson start date. We will never contact registered participants unless they are different individuals than the customer, and we do not require any additional personal information from them. The customer (the one who pays) is responsible for the registered persons.
To provide high-quality lessons in a safe environment, we will only collect necessary information about lesson participants, such as: children’s age, children’s skill level, health status, learning difficulties, or special requirements, only for teaching purposes.
Children must wear appropriate skiing clothing, sunglasses or skiing goggles, and use other suitable skiing equipment (ski or snowboard, bindings, boots, poles, and others). Equipment can be owned or rented from a rental facility near the meeting place.
Children must have the ability to use the toilet without assistance. Children up to 10 years old and other persons must wear protective helmets throughout the skiing lesson.
A fee of €30 will be charged for late pick-up of children. Fees for non-pickup will be applied from 15 minutes after the end of the lesson.
Photography
During your lessons, we may take photographs and videos of clients, including children under 18, for coaching and marketing purposes. If you do not want us to use images or footage of you or your children, inform us when making a reservation. Include this in the reservation notes and inform the instructor about it.
Equipment
We are not responsible for clients’ own equipment or equipment from a rental facility. You can rent equipment from our contractual partners at our contractual rates, which are listed in the price list (you will receive a printed seasonal brochure with prices and times at the checkout).
Ski Courses
These general terms and conditions apply to private skiing and snowboarding lessons and do not apply in full to organized ski courses. Ski courses are governed by the general regulations of the Ministry of Education and internal regulations of ski resorts and lifts for mass ski courses. When booking a course, we will contact you in advance and discuss all the conditions for your course. You can pre-book the course directly through our Reservation System at the following link Courses for trips and schools or by filling out the form at the following link Ski course order.
